My 04 explorer has a rattling noise underneath cant figure out where it's coming from. I normally hear it at low speed. Anyone else have this issue? Is it fixable?

Is it fixable?
Answer: Anything is fixable, just depends on how much money, labor, and parts needed.

I would 1st love to know what it is. Does anyone else have this issue?

"Rattling noise underneath" is a pretty vague description. MANY loose or broken suspension parts can rattle.

I'd start by inspecting front and rear sway bar end links, upper and lower ball joints, and the exhaust system.

My mechanic will be looking at it Thursday. Hopefully he can figure it out.

I've heard rattling noises under mine. -- it turned out most often to be wheel bearings. One other time it was the parking brake shoes broke loose from their mounts and moving around as the wheel spun.

The heat shield on the driver's side of the trans tunnel that protects the brake lines and fuel lines keeps rattling loose on mine.
