I saw a Gen. 3 on which the owner had himself used a clever technique to mask the crack in the rear lower plastic portion covering the rear hatch glass. It would apply to all which had the crack close to the "Ford" logo in center, as mine does.
He had made a thin sheet metal cover, with the center cut out to fit over the oval, a curved and carefully fitted it to the plastic, likely with adhesive of some sort. This type of cosmetic "fix" could be made to appear quite acceptable, as an alternative to ripping off and replacing the whole G.D. plastic panel.
Think such a part if produced in quantity and marketed would sell? imp
