My A/C up front blows ice cold, but in the overhead vents it only blows hot air. I usually just leave them turned off because I never use my 3rd row and 2nd row occupants can still get A/C through the console, which is connected to the front air. Also when I run the overheads at 1 or 2 fan speed there's a clunking sound every few seconds coming from the back. Not really a huge deal but what is the issue here?

I'm not sure where it would be located, but the sound makes me wonder about the blend door actuator. The gears may be stripped and stuck on the hot side.

I was also told it could be a rear expansion valve
