Rear bumper for our 2001 Explorer

Starting on a rear bumper for our 2001 explorer. It will allow for the license plate to be taken off the hatch and mounted below the eventual swing out tire carrier. It will eventually wrap all the way to the rear wheel well.

Here are some pictures and then a video I made of assembling it.

Looks good, Matt!
Hi lift T slots and wheel well wrap around leads me to think that this Ex is going to get lifted etc?

I was impressed with your front bumper for sure. But I REALLY like this rear bumper. But do you think it's strong enough to support a swing out tire carrier? I would like to have one that uses a ratcheting binder to do the lifting of the heavy tire/wheel, similar to a HMMWV tire carrier.

i saw that bumper on saturday, very strong. and im quite sure yes matt originally designed it for a swing out carrier, hence why the plate can be relocated on that bumper

My plan was to eventually add a swing out tire carrier to it. The ends are fully boxed and the piece that goes forward towards the tire also has an additional frame tie in point. I realized that I don't have the money or need for a 3rd off road vehicle so this build has stalled out. That tire carrier design with the ratcheting binder is cool.
