I have another thread ("hub noise? Diff?"), which I believe is pointing toward a new/rebuilt diff. Given that assumption (not yet confirmed by mechanic)...
It's my understanding that my V8-AWD Mounty has open diffs both front and rear. The center diff engages automatically. It can not be a true RWD. But the center diff can be locked.
If I have to get a new/rebuilt rear diff, could it be changed to a limited slip version? Or an e-locker (push-button)? Just thinking about options before I get the bad news from the mechanic.
