I found that my rear diff pinion seal was leaking about 2 months ago. I had it replaced by my mechanic and all was well. Then my truck died and I ended up dropping the gas tank to replace the fuel pump. While I was under the truck I noticed the seal seemed to be leaking again. Originally then we replaced the seal it looked like it was blown out. It was torn completely apart. We found the vent tube was plugged from undercoating and got it all cleaned out.
It there any other way for the fluid to get out of the diff at that point, getting past the seal somehow, or I am just looking to replace the seal again after maybe 8000 km?
