Ive been resurching about putting the shackle lift for the rear. One thing that I read was that you should remove the shock that comes off the rear diff. When I asked Ford they said taht it would mess thing up if I took it off. Has anybody taken it off and had any problems? Please let me know!:nono:

It won't mess anything up. It might add some vibration when driving which is the reason it is there in the first place. The longer length of the 4-door necesitated putting it on. The 2-doors don't have them. Many people here have removed theirs and swear they can't tell any difference. Some of the aftermarket shock companies even recommend removing it when you upgrade your shocks.

Billstein sells a replacement for this 5th shock if you wanted to upgrade.

Thanks, Now that I know what its for im Going to take that sob off. I think that it limits the flex in the rear anyhow! Thanks again and Happy New Year!:chug:

Yes it does seriously limit your flex in the rear. I took mine off along time ago and haven't regretted it at all. I didn't feel any difference at all.
