Rear gate broken???

Need some inventive advice. Some jerkoff left his chevy out of gear in my parking lot and it rolled into the back of my X. the nice part is that there is no body damage. The bad part is that when it hit my X it broke insides of the rear hatch. Anyone have any good ideas to get into the back hatch? The hadle is still there but from the way it feels it seems like the inside of the handle is not attached. Need some ideas for a fix and maybe how much it will cost to get it fixed. I wish I could something more but the chevy lover has no insurance. I am so pissed. Thanks for the help in adavance.

If you can't open the hatch from the outside then you are going to have to remove the inner trim panel. Kinda a pain but it is the only way. Then you can reach in and manually pull the two linkage rods towards each other to open the hatch. then you can find out what happened. Good luck Paxton
