rear hub assembly

I cannot separate the hub from the l/s outer spline end of the 1/2 axle. I have a chain bolted to the lug studs and a slide hammer and still no go. Did I miss something somewhere? I have the rotor off.

your missing about 10 tons of force. You need a shop press to remove the rear hub assembly.

Mine had to be heated with a torch and beat off because two shops couldn't press it off. It was a real bear......

went up and bought a haynes manual and it suggests pressing the axle out with a wheel puller. too dark and too cold, try again tomorrow.

The knuckle assembly has to be removed and taken to a machine shop to have the bearing pressed.
