Considering pulling the pin on buying a 5" suspension lift for my Explorer but obviously, it'' be cobbled together using a ranger & 1st gen kit.
What shocks would you recommend for a 2nd gen with the 4" suspension lift?

Thanks

Si

I know a lot of people used to like the Edelbrocks, I'm not sure if they still make them though. I like the Rancho 9000s. Their latest models are super beefy and the adjust-ability is nice.

I'll have to look for them, I take it they do them for the 5" lift kits?

I don't think they will be able to say which shock would work with a lift, it would be up to you to measure and order the correct shock length.

Length will depend on your lower mounting locations.
Wait until your done lifting, determine your travel, and mount spots, then measure for shocks.
I assume (hate that word) your doing a spring over. Some use the factory mounts, some change them to the axle = Different lengths.
