Rear shocks

Our explorer seems to not absorb impact in rear suspension. The slightest pot hole or anything thumps pretty loud like shocks are worn, but only a couple thousand miles on the explorer definitely does not ride as smooth or quietly as any other new vehicle I have owned ford or otherwise

If it's just a noise, possibly you have loose cargo, jack, or spare tire, or the seats aren't latched into position?

Otherwise, worn shocks tend to make bumps and potholes LESS noticeable because the suspension allows the wheels to move more, but then the body keeps undulating around longer. However I imagine that a seized shock absorber could cause that.

I'd check to make sure the tires are inflated to the door sticker spec, not over-inflated, then take it to a dealer as this should be covered under warranty.
