Just finished changing both rear strut assemblies on my 2002 Explorer. Not a bad job now it sounds like I may have a rear right axle making noise.I replaced the right front axle thinking it was that, but under braking or turning to the left I hear a clicking noise.I had a friend sitting in the back to listen for the noise and he agrees it is the back.Has anyone had to change a rear axle and where did you find it?

Check your rear parking brake shoes.

Just finishing checking the rear shoes, guess a brake job is in my near future.

Did the parking brake shoes fall off when you removed the rear rotors?

There is nothing left to the parking brakes. Shoes are gone and the hardware is shot.

That happen to my 02 explorer when i bought it in 07 The brake shoes fell apart if there not adjusted just right they will rub and wear out fast mine was bad the the tire rim so hot you couldnt even touch it .
