Rearview Camera Issue

Mine works great. Just wish there was a way to freeze-frame running over someone's cat backing out of my garage. :D

Please report back on the 'fix'. Thanks.

Finally got the Explorer ST into Ford to address a list of items.

As for the front camera not working, the 'fix' was to replace the front camera. I also had them update several of the various modules and Sync in the vehicle.

I'm still waiting on them to put in the new windshield as the intermittent wipers module was not attached to the windshield correctly, so I don't have the vehicle back yet.

Thanks for the camera update. As for the "intermittent wipers module", I was not aware that there is a module attached to the windshield. I thought that it was just a sensor that recognizes when it is raining through the use of an infrared light beam that is reflected back by water droplets. Is that perhaps what you are referring to (sensor)?

I need to get mine in for my rear view camera.

Yeah, I probably used the wrong word. It's been a long day here.

Mine started doing the exact same thing today. Did you get yours fixed iTonyp?

No, was going to schedule it but this Virus thing started happening and it did not become a priority.

Took my Limited in today and they said the camera needs to be replaced. Apparently they are aware of this issue they have one guy that only handle the cameras. he already knew what i was experiencing before i could show him example images. They will call me once it comes to schedule a replacement.

Thanks for that info Tony.

I've had two instances of the reverse camera going static on my XLT, goes back to normal after I shut the car off and back on, anyone else with XLT having this too?

They did use some poor quality cameras in these Explorers. My old Toyota had a much better quality view compared to the ford camera.

Just happened again this time static turned to this message which fixed itself within a minute or so

haven't that issue since they replaced it. Looks like a bad rear camera.

After I got a car wash, the camera is just gone haywire 50% of the time now. Gonna have to schedule a service visit ****.

Our 2020 Explorer ST has done this blue screen intermittently. We have brought it to our dealer and they haven’t been able to replicate the problem.

I have the same problem with mine plus Reverse Brake Assist Not Available. Dealer could not duplicate conditions. They need to figure this out!

I had the same exact problem with the rear camera when putting it in reverse the blue screen would come up.

I pulled the explorer trim off the tailgate, blew the connector out with compressed air and greased up the camera plug with dielectric grease. Hasn't happened again since I did that. The plug they used for that camera is garbage just fyi.

The reverse brake assist not available happens any time one of the sensors it needs isn't working correctly.

Just yesterday my back up camera started acting up. When in reverse the screen is gray and fuzzy, and looks like an old school TV from back in the day when you didn't have the channel but you could almost make out what's on. Anybody have any similar issues? It's a 2020 explorer XLT with 1500 miles

Time for a new camera perhaps:

So tbird what might be a solution? I couldn't figure out what was causing this message the other day and it would not go away while I was in reverse. There was nothing around the car. When I started the car the next morning the message was gone. It's happened before but the message didn't stay long enough for me to dig out my phone for a photo.
