I think my trans problem is due to a defective valve body. Should I buy a remanufactured VB or can it be easily rebuilt?

Shift Rite has one that's ready to bolt on including all gaskets for $229.99, not sure how much it would cost to rebuild it myself, or if it's something I want to attempt having never rebuilt one.

Do you have a clean 6ft table and some patients? There is always the chance you'll have to go into it again for a 2nd try if it doesn't shift right the first time.

I'll pull the pan and give every thing a good check, if it's the valve body I'll probably go with a re-manufactured one with the update mod to prevent some future problems. If it's something that requires the trans being pulled out I'll swap in another trans.

After thinking about it, I decided I don't want to have to round up all the parts and then try keeping them all together in a way that works.
