I have purchased this kit http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140074372336 and have just recieved it a few hours ago. This is what the kit contains:
The instructions have very poor photos but seem to explain it alright. Basically, you remove the HVAC plenum and mount the silver cutting template, followed next by cutting the "hole" portion of the template. Then you would remove the old door and insert the new one, placing the gold coloured plate on top. The gold plate has a metal bushing which the door pivots in and is 3M adhesive backed to finnish the job. I was planning on doing the bottom hole cutting method, but since the kit comes with a plate that has a bushing, I dont want to cut out the bottom only to find out that the OEM door has a different sized door pivot, so removing the dash will be my route (on the same note, I dont know why they didnt make the kit so that you cut the bottom out instead of the top...). The replacement door looks to be a sturdy plastic with well adhered foam edging, while the other black "mystery door" (no mention of it's purpose in the instruction) seems a bit flimsy to my taste. I'll try to take plenty of pics as I'm going along (any excuse to use my new camera lol) Time for all the accumulated repairs to begin
Cheers,
Francois
