My mom has a 1993 explorer that has started doing something strange. When she hits her brakes a red brake light in the bottom right hand corner of the instrument panel comes on and then goes off. THe brake light is red and has the letters I P underneath it. Anyone know what is causing this? She hasn't had any problems with the brakes, just the wierd light. Thanks in advance.

it may be low on brake fluid or have bad wheels speed sensors....

I don't think there is a light that says I P, the dash reads like this (left to right):

Left Signal // Check Engine // Check Oil // Battery Symbol

Then on the other side of the steering wheel (l t r):

4x4 // Low Range // Rear Antilock // Right Signal

There is one that says !P on it for the regular brake system (abs has it's own light). If it comes on just when you brake, it likely means low fluid. That light is connected to two sensors. From memory (I don't have my manual handy right now) one is a float for fluid level, and one is a line pressure sensor.
