red fog light bulbs?

has anyone ever replaced the fog light bulbs on their X with red bulbs (led or otherwise)? I was thinking it would give the truck a cool/mean look. I am getting a set of black fog light lamps from a guy around my area as well as black headlight covers so the truck would be all black and then have red in the fogs. I was also thinking about getting tint wrap and tinting the lights that are mounted on my grill guard, thought it would be pretty cool. basically I wanted to see if anyone had any pics or thoughts about the red bulbs in the fogs... and what bulb I need to get to replace those. One of my current ones is out anyway so they need to be replaced either way! thanks!

I had color changing halos with my fog lights for a little while, that's a route you could go.

Now I have LED pods for fog lights and you could get the different colored covers for them that make them appear red, green, etc. Both routes could let you have normal colored fog lights for when you don't want them red.

As mentioned, red lights/bulbs are illegal to have on the front of a vehicle, except for emergency vehicles.

Even color changing bulbs or lamps that are only used for show are illegal just to have on a vehicle, even if they aren't on when driving.

The legal colors for fog lamps are white, yellow, and amber.

I hear ya.

TGtrac05- did you get rid of your halos? Or do you have them still and want to get rid of them? Ha

I don't unfortunately. It was a cheap project that I did a pretty bad job on and ended up just getting rid of them. But if you want those halos, superbrightleds.com is where I got them. 80mm RGB halos with a remote for like $37 or something like that. As for the legality guess if cops just want to be picky about it they could do something but I never had an issue, I had one tell me you can have it on any color when you're parked. I drove around with them on odd shades of blue, pink, etc and passed cops all the time and never worried about anything, but yeah obviously if you want to be safe just don't drive around with red, blue or green

Red lights directed forward are not legal in any state, unless you are driving a authorized emergency vehicle. Big fat ticket. Other vehicles might mistake you for a police vehicle, which could get you in trouble.

Tinted headlight covers are illegal in WI. You can get away with it during the day unless it also covered your directional. You can only have amber marker lights in the front and sides. Red to the rear. So red is illegal to the front. When I was a LEO I pulled people over for it all the time for tinted lights. Check into your state laws.
