So a hail storm went through here about a month ago and ruined all my lights and basically the whole car. I had to buy new headlights and taillights so I thought why not take the old ones apart and see what I can do. So I did this:
I bought some red halos off ebay and put them in and painted the outside housing black. As you can see I haven't had a chance to do the corners. I tried baking them in the oven but they are too cheap and the plastic melted before the seal. I will probably use tailight tint to make them black to match.
And before you ask, no these are not projectors, and no they do not block any (or that much) light at night. I can still see fine.
Sorry about the quality my camera didn't want to capture the halos light. I'll try to get a night picture in tonight and see if it's any better. EDIT: Didn't turn out.
