What trim are you talking about? The steps/running boards? Or just the small lip? Removing running board will make it look a bit higher, but you'll have to deal with the holes that are left. If it's just that small piece of trim, I doubt it'd make much difference.

...and the holes will be there as well if you remove the small trim

Paraphoe,

I notice that you took out the "skirts" on your rig. Did you put something inside those holes like Expand-A-Foam and curious also to how many holes were there. Where did you get those plugs, any specific size on them?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry man, just saw this post now.

I honestly do not remember the details on the plug size or the number. I basically measured the holes and then went to Lowe's/Home Depot and got plugs to fit that size hole. Sorry for the lack of detail. I DO remember there being two different size holes, so it was kind of annoying, but it worked out.

I actually may eventually pull these out and do it the "right" way (more on that below). I'm worried about water working it's way in and rusting things out despite my application of silicone to seal the plugs.

Your best option is probably to do what MountaineerGreen did. Fill the holes with that expanding foam stuff/body filler, sand them flat and herculine over them.
