i need to remove the side molding under the door. I have to fix a small rust spot on the rocker panel before it rust on though the rocker panel. I don't want to break it. Trying to fix the rust spots before the truck rusts though. Thanks for the help.

One screw forward of front section, one screw at rear of back section. Front and rear pieces clip onto much larger middle section. Middle section has plastic clips that also help hold it to body. I don't think there is a better way to remove the middle section than just pulling and prying from the top edge. It will make you think you are going to break it.

When you get the lower moldings removed, you will probably find much more rust on the "dog-leg" sections. There is information in this forum about repair and replace of dog-legs.

Good luck.

Yeah, they’re probably much more rotten than the look. The plastic clips are a pain, but usually come off without issue.
