That's one good looking Explorer. Some of the members here were able to fill in the holes left from the bolts with body filler to make the whole roof flat. If you're lookin to do that I'm sure there's a right-up somewhere... Looks great tho.

x2 Where did you get the fog light grilles?

Future mods??

i got the fog light grills off of ebay havent seen them on there since but they might be now havent looked lately no reason to really lol
as for getting it off there are 2 clips that pop off on each cover i broke at least 1 off on 3 and both one one i probley wont put it back on though the middle peace is where i got stumped untill i relized that that had a cover that popped off too and it reviled 2 more bolts then they came right off. if you dont care about the covers its really easy i was talking my time and if i have to put it back on i can.if you have a trim removal tool it will help a lot but i still managed to break them its like a 1/4 inch round thingy with a metal clip around it hope that helps you

oh and if your wandering when i have the fog lights on i can even tell the billet is over it

someone needs to make a write up with pictures on how to remove the roof racks. when it warms up a little, i am going to take mine off but i am really confused at all the descriptions i have seen about how to do it.

yeah i should of done that but it was like 25 degrees outside when i did it wasn't hard at all once I figure out what i was doing hardest part is getting the caps off once there are off you just take the bolts out

is it ever going to leak ? or putting the bolts back in does the trick? looks good

i hope it does... other guys have said that just putting the bolts back in will make it not leak i ended put putting touch up on where theyscrew in and tightned the bolt down while they were still wet the applied more touch up on top once the bolts were tightened back down so i hope that adds more water sealent

i might do that bro. Everyone saids its easy but i stand in front of the roof racks and go like "How the hell am i going to remove this?!?!!?" lol:confused:

I plan on tackling this, this weekend.

i just ran outside to my shed and took a few pics of the rails so you can see how the things are suposed to come off

this is of the little metal clips that hold the caps on

be careful or you will break the thingys off as you can see this one will have to be replaced if i ever put it back on

this picture is so you can tell how the caps pull off

i hope that somewhat helps someone

i finally motivated myself to remove the roof rack today...thanks to you guys and the pics i knew exactlly where to start...for some reason the 6 pieces that pop off the rack to expose the screws came off real easy for me...i didnt even break a tab...maybe i got real lucky...took about 15-20 mins and i was done...i decided to screw the bolts back in and tackle the painting part on the weekend....i really like it....dont think im going to be putting it back on...
