I'm considering getting rid of the vehicle info center screen in the center console because I'd rather have the cubby storage space. I'm concerned that even if I remove it, I'll still get the chime sound when I get down to 50 miles till empty, oil change needed, etc. I'm assuming that's the case? I guess maybe I could save just the Reset button so I can turn off the oil life warning. Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure it's a self contained module that once it's unplugged all its functions are gone.

I cannot confirm here. But I had my center console out for about 2 months or so when I replace my 02 sensors. ( I was too lazy to put it all back together and I kinda liked the open space look honestly.) But anyways I normally drive to a pretty low part on the tank and don't ever exactly remember getting the charm for low fuel charm.

boomin is correct, it will do no harm to remove it. I have two trucks with no console in them now, both I've delivered mail with for ages(75k miles).

Awesome, thanks guys! I'm surprised it's really that easy.
