so i have a 2005 4.0l xlt, and for awhile i thought i heard a small metal on metal clunk pulling in and out of the driveway at idle speed. well now it is constant at low idle speeds up to about 20mph, wish i could record it but it is like clunk clunk clunk clunk, lol until i accelerate above 20-25. it definately is coming from the front end and it is not effecting the driving at all or the shifting or anything, just always hear the clunking in and out of the driveway and at low speed. i jacked up the front end and rotated the wheels back and fourth quickly,(not complete revolutions) and could hear it clunk. seems maybe where the front drive shafts go into the diff?? any help/advice in repairs would be great thanks guys.
