Replace display on MACH audio system?

The display has gone out on my stock '99 MACH audio system, although the system otherwise works perfectly. A car audio place has quoted me a price of $95 to replace the display.

How hard is it to do this? I know how to pull the system out, but not how to get to the display itself. And where would I get the part?

goto the junk yard and get a used radio... problem fixed.. and it will cost you less then &50

My experience with junk yards has been dismal.

I figure if the audio shop can do the repair for $95, it's taking them less than an hour. It can't be very difficult! (Famous last words, right?)

Very common problem.
I reccomend doing a search on the forums for "Radio Display Out" there are a few threads about it and some different ways people have made their display work again.
