Its that time for me to do a tensioner job on my ex, i was just wondering, can i just replace the tensioners and the guides without taking the timing chain off? ive never done timing and ive always had a hard time understanding how to do it. i know its not really the best idea since the timing chain should be replaced also, but if its not stretched out or worn is it really that much of an issue? Thanks!

I wouldn't go that far and not replace the chain and the camshaft phasers. Especially if you plan to drive the vehicle for the long term. I am sure there are a few tricks to make the job easier.

Okay I was just wondering, thanks guys!
