The other day I noticed a few drops of oil on my driveway so I decided to take a look under my X. What I found is that my oil pan is almost completely rusted through. So I need to change mine out.

My Questions are, is this as straight forwards as it seems? Just unbolt, new gasket and new pan?

Any suggestions or tips?

Also any suggestions or tips on where to get the new pan?

Also, with over 180,000 miles, anything else I should check while I have the pan off?

Thanks

The oil pan is Alumminum... No rust!

I think the motor has to be pulled in order to get the pan off though, becasue of the cross member:(

You have the SOHC then I guess.;) My OHV has a alumminum pan.

Yes you will have to pull the motor then:(

No help here but I just wanted to mention that I had an oil pan rust thru on a 90 Linc. TC.
Just doesnt sound right does it?
