Replace Rear Brake Pads & Rotors

Several of my vehicles have worn down the rear pads before the fronts. Jeep wranglers also use up their rear pads first due to ESC applying the rear brakes. My 2003 Cobra Mustang used up the rear pads first due to a vented, thicker, larger diamter rotor being used with the regular GT rear caliper. The pad had to be thinner from the start and grippier to get the parking brake to work well at all. I'll check my wife's 2013 explorer rear pads tonight. She has 60,000+ miles on her car, but I think the dealership changed out the pads when we bought it 30,000 miles ago. I specifically remember the new pads and antisqueal lube on the calipers when I was inspecting the car.

Rear rotor torx bolt

What size is the torx bolt because I may not be using the right size? Also anyone have the best way to loosen it? Both my rear rotor torx bolts are very tight
