I know, I'm a pain in the a$$ with my questions, I'm just trying to get it right...thanks for your patience.

Installed both battery cables, as I was having starting issues...install went OK...high quality, 4 gauge cable, correct length from NAPA (info Dead Link Removed).

The bad news...now my battery light is on, and it wasn't on before...double checked all fittings, OK...these cables are almost a clone of what I took off, so it was a pretty standard install.

The XLT starts great, volts are fine, alternator is charging, but WTF with this battery light after the cable swap?

Remember, NO battery light before the cable change.

Any thoughts?

Thanks all...appreciate it.

<edit>...the voltmeter in the vehicle reads about midpoint-ish, maybe just over.

A digital voltmeter shows about 13.35 volts with every accessory on except ww wipers ...the A/C on high max, lights (high beam), rw defroster, radio, etc.

Also, since I went this far, I put a brand new Sears Diehard Gold battery in it...still has the battery light?!

Please give me some feedback...thanks.

Got me. First thought would be alternator or voltage regulator, but since you say it's charging ???
