I am trying to put a new steering pump in my 96 V8 and have a quick question for anyone who has done this. The pressure fitting on the pump had a teflon oring that came apart when I removed the fitting. I thought the new pump (it is the motorcraft from the dealer) would come with a new oring, but instead, there appears to be the entire bolt w/ teflon oring and everything already bolted into the pump. Seems like the way it is, I would need to remove the bolt, insert the high pressure line, flare it, get another teflong ring, and bolt it up... am i missing something? Why didn't they just package it with a new teflon oring?
