I own a 1992 explorer 4 wheel drive, i am replacing both rotors on it and was wondering if i will need a special tool of any type or a certain size of socket to remove them since it is 4 wheel dr? Thank you.

if it has automatic hubs, just a really big socket or a pipewrench... i dont know what size socket, i used a pipe wrench. if it has manual hubs, you'll need a special socket to get the spindle nut off, its a 4 prong socket, available at any parts store. just tell'em you need a 1/2 ton 4wd spindle nut socket

The auto hub spindle nut is a 2 3/8" and you can find the socket at any auto parts place worth it's salt. The key needs to come out before trying to unscrew it.
Try a search, I've seen at least one good (with lots of pictures) how to thread on doing the brakes/bushings.
