Hello all,

First time posting here, tried several searches but couldn't locate an answer. My girlfriend's 98 Explorer just had the left front outer wheel bearing self destruct, and the inner race welded itself to the spindle, which is now too damaged to reuse. I was looking at what would be involved in replacing the steering knuckle assembly but on closer inspection it appears that the spindle may actually be separate, just held in place by a large (12mm?) Allen bolt… anyone know if this is the case, and if so is there anything special I should know about replacing it (i.e., replace bolt)?

Thanks in advance!
