I'm planning to do this and have read that I have to drop the VB to get the solenoids out.
I found this great picture here showing the solenoids. That is the VB there in right? They cannot be slid out with the VB in place. Is there something I don't see here do they hit the edge of the rail is why they won't slide out without dropping the VB. Cause it looks like they can slide out without dropping the VB.

They all have a bracket etc to hold them in, and a bolt near has to come out or be loosened.

There is a revised bracket so replace that if your model is before the revision. I think it was around 1998 or 1999 IIRC.
