My son came hobbling home last night complaining that he lost Power Steering. Looked under the hood and the serp belt was broken. It looks like the tension pulley shattered which might have caused the problem. Any rocket science in replacing the tension pulley?

Funny, my 96 EB had it's tension pulley fall apart about 6 months ago but I was out of town and had to rely on a local service station to replace it. No excuse this time for me not doing it myself.

And here I hoped to have spent the morning working on my 68 fastback. Oh well!

Thanks in advance
Craig

The replacement of that pulley is simple; 10 minutes max.

Good luck .....

No rocket science involved except for the study of threaded fasterers. One bolt holds it to the front of the engine. There is a tab that fits into a recess that determines the angle. The tensioner is about at the 7 o'clock position without any tension on it.

Replaced both the tensioner and belt today with thanks to you two.

Thanks
Craig
