This is my first message. I live in Australia and own a 2000 ford explorer, used mainly for towing a caravan. it has a 4L v6 ENGINE, I have done 198,000KM'S and have been more than happy with the vehicle. I have been told that i should change the timing chains at about 220,000 KMS. Could someone enlighten me if this is the case as i have been quoted about $5500.00 Australian dollars to do this, the car is not worth much more than this if I was to trade it.
