I need to replace a dead battery on a 2017 Sport, and I'd like to replace it with an AGM type. I think it came with the conventional flooded type battery (Motorcraft BXT-65-650):

- Can I safely replace a flooded type with AGM?
- If I replace with the AGM, do I need to take the Ex to the dealership for re-calibration? I've read that AGM batteries are pickier about how they are charged, so I don't know if the alternator has been calibrated for a flooded type, which might overcharge/damage an AGM or other electrical components.

I recently replaced my flooded batteries with AGMs, in both the Sports. They are 2000
model year. The resting and charging voltages appear to be the same as before (with the
flooded batteries). I think where the problems arise is when a fast charger is used on the
AGM. I also use a Battery Tender .75A float charger on them with no ill effects...
