Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) is now showing resale and trade-in values for 2020 Explorers. I ran the numbers for a loaded ST (MSRP of $60k), here's what I found out...
I ran the numbers for a loaded ST (without rear entertainment) with only 10 miles, in "very good" condition. I did not use "excellent" condition, since all dealers will say that no vehicle is in excellent condition.
Trade-in is showing only $43,950. If I had to guess, the dealer would probably offer you $43k. A $17k hit off of MSRP. Ouch!
Private party resale is showing around $48,750, which is a lot better than $43k, obviously, but still a pretty good hit. You should keep these numbers in mind if you're looking to purchase a new Explorer.
I usually like to be a little lower than private party resale, so that I know if I had to sell tomorrow, I'd get a good chunk of my money back.
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
