Well, I think I may have figured out the vibration in my driveline. My driveshaft has a pretty big dent in it. I'm takin' it tomorrow to get fixed. I hope it's the problem.

I can think of about 214 places that might have happened, gotta love our low trucks haha.I am just gonna put a massive piece of steel under mine some it does'nt take so much abuse.

You lie. ;) You wanna go to Uwharee? :D

I'd love to go to Uwharee! As soon as I get my EGR problem solved, dump my '87 VW Fox in the quarry, and get myself a new truck for when I break this one. ;)

As those of you who were there already know, I blew a hub on the first obstacle and embarased myself and my truck...but after seeing what came later I was glad it broke. I just ordered manual hubs, and I'm working on sliders, so next time I'll be more prepared.

I still had a blast riding with JoshC during the day, and GWNF offered a little entertainment with a 2wd rig at that point... Thanks again Josh, and hope to see you all again soon. Someday I'll get all of my pictures off the camera...the docking station is in Clemson and I don't know when I'll get back up there.

Atleast it broke at the easy stuff.. It be worse if it broke during the hard stuff.. Definately run manual hubs..

Larry,
You did not embarrass yourself at all. Breaks happen. You should be thankful. My truck is making a few new noises in the front and I have to try and bend my radius arm bracket back without breaking it. And for some reason my power mirrors stopped working in the down and right directions. On the way up I popped 2 CB's, autolamp function, keyless entry and my satelite radio. WTF over :fire: I guess I should be thankful I made it home.

Ben,
I believe on your memory card are Larry's pics I think the folder is even named after him if you still have room for them.

I'll have to check.. I have plenty of webspace.. As a matter of fact too much :D :D

Larry, don't sweat it man. All of us have our days. There is ALWAYS next time. We'll get out to Tellico or somewhere and have some fun.

I'm gonna try and get some work done on the truck, maybe by then Larry will be up and running again and we can meet at Tellico, Uwharee, or somewhere close to us.

One thing about all the pictures is that they do NOTHING to show the difficulty of this place, at least for me at pretty much stock height. I am sure it is like that at all places, but in all the pics the rocks look about the size of a ****er spaniel, when they were actually much bigger. What a day though, it was a blast, albeit a tough blast.

Here are my pics..most of them are of myself and Josh Adams.

Yeah, that will do it, I always love sliding down on frame rails, sliders and skid plates. I was a sled most of the day, just that my sledding tires were in 4lo with my foot on the floor most of the time haha.

Also, phrase of the day was, "back up and just bump it" which in my language meant back up and floor it.

Larry breaking something is just a good excuse to upgrade.

Nobody believed me when I posted my trip report back in March. I do have to say the second time was easer (less scary) than the first.

I thought the same thing about pictures from my March trip to Crozet. The rocks looked tiny in the pictures, but when you are bumping you junk over them they grow to enormous porportion.

At Crozet having some clearance, low gears and no fear helps considerably.

I want some unimog axles. That should do it for the blues anyway.

Some of those pictures on that link are mine, most aren't, and there's more that never made it off Burgundy's camera from GWNF. They might get online eventually....

I went under my truck yesterday and found more bent stuff. I must have set my truck down right on the Drop bracket for the driver side beam because it has a wrincle in it. Also, at the same time it pushed against the beam and pushed out the pivot bushing. Whats next? I am now thinking hard about an SAS and SOA in the rear before I ever play on the rocks like that again. My radius arm bracket is a little more bent than I thought. and the drop bracket I believe is supposed to be streight with no waves in the metal.

Wow, josh, that's a pretty good smack. I believe this is when you did that!
