Well first off I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that showed up. Steph and I had an awesome time. Special thanks to Rick and Char for everything they have done, and being so kind. To Tom for showing me the ropes and helping out, and the same goes for Brian. Also appreciate letting us run shottie on Firday's Nite Run, and all the help. And last but not least, Jim for pulling me out when I high centered. Thank you everyone else as well for making this trip the best large group run I've been to. I look forward to seeing you all soon, I'll be out at TDS, bringing both rigs.

If there are any stockies out there, becareful if the group ever wants to take you on a "Quick Run in the Wash". I went on that quick run the first nite I was there (Thursday) and that's where I got all of my damage from. It was all worth it though (Scratched, dented, bent side steps, bowed fender, scratched hitch, and some funny noises coming from my front axcel :hammer: ) it was a lot of fun with good people. I can finally say my trucks not new anymore and it's de-virginized.

Oh, props to John for being right next to me with the "newest" trucks out on the trails. His Sportract Rocks! I wish there were more new stockies that would have come out, though I think I saw a new Ranger out on Sunday. I wish I would have gone on that run, but maybe next time.

Any local So Cali people, drop me an email if you want to do a local run, or goto THaven again.:bounce:

Mystery Whoops Explained

I am the driver of the vehicle in Tom's whoops picture. It all started out innocently enough. I was driving my mom's 1999 extremely stock Explorer on the Saturday stocker run. Everything was going good enough until I reached Exhaust Bender Hill (named by Brian K). The hill started at the bottom of a wash after coming down a very steep incline. When I tried to make the transition from down to up, I just couldn't get the right angle. So I backed up to give it another shot. Little did I know that my exhaust tip had caught on the bottom of the wash and had bent 180 degrees. I must have raised the back tire enough while backing up to catch the tip of the exhaust. I continued to back up completely driving the exhaust into the tire. I ended up driving into town and spending 3 hours in the tire store waiting for them to change my tire. It was really a small price to pay for all the fun that I had.

Thanks to everyone on the stocker run that helped get me back on the road. It was great to meet so many awesome people who have the same interests. Next goal is to get my own X. I'm looking forward to Moab in May. At least for now I can ride shotgun with my brother (climbnkd). Thanks to everyone for all the great memories.

man thaven 02 was so fun.... rick, i will try to mail my discs to you tommorow morning....

I would like to thank all the stockers for not lynching me after the exhast bender wash incidents. I really did not mean for you all to get any damage. Instead, we got lots. Sorry, and thanks for taking it in stride.

I must say it again....I LOVE MY LOCKER!!

looks like everyone had a great time! I hope to make it again sometime. It's funny i haven't been there in years but can still see those pictures and say "oh yeah I remember where that is!"

Brian,

It was a blast, and you did a great job in leading us, and so did Gopher. We knew exactly what we were getting into when we signed up for this trip and turned off the pavement! =)

Brian, No worries about the course.. as xplodor said once we turned of the pavement all bets were off. My truck managed a bent exhaust pipe and needed to be hacked off on the trail (thanks john and aquaman). Now I can say my rig is trail modified! Thanks again.

Xplodor, Look out... I'm 90% sure I will be locked up in the rear for TDS. I was looking at the no slip from Power Trax. Have you heard any thing about it? It about 400 bucks from ORW. Send me a private message to exchange #s for the snow board trip.

Oh yea, Thanks Jefe for the midnight madness run. My driver side skirt got a little thrashed but nothing serious.

SEE YOU ALL AT TDS.
:redexp: will

My truck is making funny noises!!! I want to get side rock sliders and a locker before TDS. I hope I can get it done in time.

Someone should start a Thread and signup sheet for TDS. If we have a good turnout, I'm leaving the J**P home and just bringing the Xplodor, spend the $ on that. =)

Already is a thread started about TDS I started it looks like be 6-7 rigs out there. still hopeing i can make it

Hey Ron seems like your getting the bug.:bounce: I told you not to thank us we were just getting you addicted.:D What does Steph say.:shoot:

Nothing much, she's sorry we didn't get to say goodbye to you.

Itch is there, I hope my wallet can support the habbit. Are 31" tires any good, or should I go to 33"s? What mods do you think I need to do to fit them?

GEARS!

Just remember Xplodor, Big tires means new gear ratios!

Good time to get lockers!

FYI :p

Howdy everyone!

Emmy and I just got back from our trip this last Sunday.
I just want to say it was blast and it was great to meet everyone that showed up.

I just ordered a 3" body lift this week. Hopefully, in Feb. I can get some new wheels and bigger tires on my rig. Question??, should I try to get wheels and tires local? Or order from an Off-Road store and have them shipped? I've seen packaged deals in the magazines, but they always advertise them as a set of 4, I want a set of 5(I want the spare tire to match). I basically want 35" Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's on 15" black wheels. Any suggestions on the best way to get them would be appreciated.

Yesterday, I finished uploading all my pictures from Truckhaven 2002 to my website. I still need to build webpages with comments, but here are the links to the raw photos:

*** Warning - This link has just over 300 thumbnail pictures

John,
Your pictures are awesome.:bounce: You took great pictures. I think we might have the next Peter Weber.:p .

Great pictures John!!

Thanks for sticking up for me in the stocker run thread. That exhaust pipe damage wash was just a fluke that I never thought would happen. If we would have avoided that wash, we would have gotten out without any mentionable damage.

Easy Gopher. Cheepers, I miss one meet and I'm already replaced. :D I really wanted to be there and did post why I had to drop out.

Seriously, great pics, John. But as I said in the other post, it's not the same as being there.
