So tonight the reverse gear on my 99 V6 SOHC EB was slipping. This is the first time it's done this. Over the past year I've noticed it loudly clunks into reverse at times, but a slipping has never occurred. I've dumped a bunch of money into this truck over the past year, so this really sucks. Only has 125k miles on it. Anyone have an estimate on how long I have before the reverse goes out completely? Would the truck be safe to drive on a long trip? Also, if it were to go out completely, I've read it's at least 1k to fix, probably closer to 2k. Does this sound about right? Thanks.
