Right now i have 16" rims on my 99 xplorer.... can i use 15" rims instead because it is cheaper to buy tires with a 15" rim size than a 16" rim. thanks
Absolutely you can. As long as you can clear your brakes and follow all the other fitment issues with whatever backspacing you want to go to, you should be fine. I went down from 16x7's to 15x8's because I got a smokin' deal on wheels and tires together, just plan on your future needs alot before you make a fast decision simply based on costs per tire. I am going back to the 16x7's because of specific tire sizes I want, just take into account that if you do so... you're still going to have to fork over initial $$ for the new wheels, lugs, locks, short tire stems or whatever... it may add up to alot more than you anticipate saving. Good luck with your choices and decisions
