I’m in need of new tires and would like to upgrade to 20” rims for looks. I live in Utah and drive in a lot of snow. If I put 20”s how much tire can I get without rubbing? The KMC slides have a slightly higher offset 1/2 inch and are 2”s wider which will bring the wheels in 2.5.” Inches to the body. A mechanic at a local shop recommended putting 255/40/20 on it. I’m trying to get as much meat on the tire as possible without rubbing or lifting the body. I’m worried 255/35/20 tires will be too slim & anything thicker will rub. Do any of you have 20”s and if so what size tires do you have?

Well, I’ll be putting a 4/2” lift on mine and jamming 33/10.5r/15 in there. I’ll let you know how that goes. You can just do the math to figure the difference for your application. There are people on this forum with 35s, so it’s possible, it just depends on how much you want to lift and trim.
