Now I have to go paint my cover...can't have 2 guys out there with silver BTF covers But seriously, you can't go wrong with a BTF cover. I went with the smooth finish but I like the exposed weld ones too. One of these days i'll get one for the front on my D44.
i had a previous concern about a slight bend in my front crossmember. i was using it as a good reason for a SFA. but after seeing stic-o's, i dont think im so worried about it.
As for the issue with the bolts not sitting well thanks to the welds.. I just used the grinder to file the weld down in those areas. I think the allen head bolts would be a good idea too. My cover is homemade and for a d44, but its the same idea as the BTF ones. 1/4" plate sectioned together to make one sturdy diff cover.
