Rolls in park

Hello all i have this problem with my explorer rolling in park i checked the linkage already and all is good so i was thinking maybe its the bands that need adjusted and i have a 1992 exploder lol can anyone help me ? also it is haveing problems with it shifting like you can put it in 2nd and it will drop but if your on the high way driving its ok for its shifting sometimes but not always and around town you have to drive it in overdrive for it to drive normal rpms like the gears have been reversed in sted of drive its OD

Your linkage may be misaligned somehow. It doesn't sound like the "pawl" is engaging in park like it is supposed to. If you take the tail housing off the transmission, I think that you can see the parking pawl on the back of the tranny, and you would be able to tell if it was broke or something. There are a lot of people on here who are experts on the A4LD, and can give you much better information than I can, but that's just my $0.02 worth!
