I need some serious help. I finally got my rough country 1.5" leveling coils in this past thursday so I decided to put them in today. I rented a spring compressor and it took me about 2 hours to get the old springs out (not to mention I split my skin open getting it out). I don't care about that though, I'll happily bleed instead of paying $100 for someone else to do it. To the problem: I can't get the new ones compressed enough to get them in. Does anyone have any advice for me. I'm going to spend every minute tomorrow after I get home from work to try to get this done because I want my new tires on tuesday. Thanks for any help

Are you jacking up the truck so the axle can droop? Between droop and a spring compressor, you should be able to get it in. You can also disconnect the shock to get a little more droop.

You shouldn't need a spring compressor to install the springs. Lift the truck (support it by the frame), disconnect the sway bar and shock absorber, and push down on the traction beam. If that won't give you enough room to install the spring, loosen the radius arm (where it mounts into the crossmember.) That should allow enough movement.

Thanks a lot guys, I did all of that except for disconnect the swaybar and I also used the compressor and it worked. I just needed a better compressor so I went and got one from autozone and it did the trick. Truck looks awesome now, except that my tires are kinda sideways because I haven't gotten it alligned yet. thanks for the help

Brandon,
How much did the coils cost you and what did you use in the rear? did you use just a ad a leaf in the rear and the new coils up front? just wondering

The springs cost me $110 plus $20 for shipping and they took 5 days to get here. I didn't order anything for the rear yet because I wanted to see how much lift I would need in the rear to make it level to the front after the springs. I found out that the rear is exactly 1.5" lower than the front so today I'm going to order the warrior shackles from desert rat. I don't want add-a-leaf's cause my back springs are already stiff enough so any more would be uncomfortable. When I get the shackles on I'll put another post on here to tell how well it worked out.
