I am having trouble attempting to remove the console lid on a 2000 ford explorer. Is there more to do than remove the 2 screws that appear to secure the latch? Thank you for any advice.
Wmitch, welcome. Do you have the console that runs all the way to the dash?, if so when you open the console lid at the back of the lid are a couple screws that attach the lid to the hinge. You would have to remove them to remove the console lid.
No, it does not go to dash. I suppose its more of a armrest. I have removed the 2 screws that should release the hinge latch, but cannot remove hinge that holds the lid. It appears obvious so I must be missing something.
