- 09 Explorer EB 4X4
Ok, I took my 2009 4x4 off-road. I managed to drive into two badger holes that lined up perfectly with the driver side front and rear wheels. It set the Explorer on the frame and popped off the driver side running board.
There was a lot of laughs and fun making at my expense.
The running board appears to be attached to the front and rear bracket by two sets of nut and bolts. The nut just appears to be pressed into the prefabbed holes of the underside of the plastic running board. There is a piece of tubular pvc (pipe) between the brackets that provides some rigidity.
Can the old nuts be pressed back in to the premade holes?
The whole thing looks to be designed to take downward pressure and not upward pressure that I inadvertently provided.
