Running boards

I had to take off my running boards on my explorer due to corrosion... Pretty bad. Now I wanted to get new ones, but where the boards attach to is rusted pretty bad and I don't think they can no longer support them. Is there another way to install the boards? Or am I screwed lol.

That's what I am afraid of. I have found some at CarID but I am not sure if they just mount to the same location or to the frame :(
 






weld up a bracket that bolts to the frame.. that should make for some tough running boards. The way the stock ones are attached is a laugh.
 






I thought the same thing! When I looked at where they mount I laughed and didn't understand how they held the weight. Ill go up to a local body shop and see if they can weld something to the frame!
