So my sons 96 sport has a rusted out frame basically from the rear end back. The leaf spring mounts have disintergrated at the rear and are resting on the body. The body mounts are gone back there too. I only have shade tree experience with most things. My wife has an 02 explorer xlt with coil over shocks in the rear. So i was thinking of doing away with the rear part of the leaf springs. Keeping the front of them attached and setting up some coil over shocks on the axle. I also know i need to fab something to keep it from moving left to right. My brother in law says we should get a rear frame from the junk yard at replace everything stock. I think the coil over idea is cool and would ride nice if could get it to work. Any one got opinions on this.
