SAS for 99XLT..what do I need?

well, just wondering how much it would cost and what parts i would need to get for a front SAS for my truck, brfore dropping all the parts at the store for the install. of course, as usual, keeping the cost as low as possible. also, this truck has to be a daily driver..so no dana 60 or anything like that.
commnets?
thanks.

close to $3k if lucky...why not buy a used 4x4...surely can get one at that price already built.

A SAS is not cheap or easy. Whatever you read/hear, the rule of thumb is to at least double it.

The only 4x4s you will find "already built" for under $3000 are either going to be stock, a Sammi, or beat to fawk.

yeah believe what they say id love one but its not cheap or easy.

Swak. Remember my shop does this swap. If you wernt going bigger than a 33 or 35 and plan on wheeling it, you could run a dana 30 up front. I say go for it :) Thats what credit is for

i know, brain. but i need to provide the dana30, dont i? and all other parts?

And remember that a SAS will be evn more for you because you are 2wd. You will need a new TC and new driveshafts also. So dont forget to factor that in.

And a new tranny, at least the case and output shaft.
Brian, we need to see some pics of your shops fab work before anyone is going to take their rigs there ;)
The shop I use does the swap as well Texasautogear.com This is who did Michael's SAS.

Okay I admit it

Okay, I admit it I am stupid (or just ignorant) ¿What is an SAS? What does SAS stand for and what is it exactly?
