So I've decided to use a Jeep Dana 30. It'll be on explorer rear leaf springs. since I only drive off road about 40% of the time, I figure it'd hold up. our dana 35 front axles are reverse cut correct? and the vacuum actuator... can a remove it along with the passenger axle, put a drivers side axle in it and just block off the plate? the steering is very similar to fords steering so what would i need to change to get it to work?

i guess u can't use a drivers side axle because it'd be too short

Different year jeeps have long side shafts that don't have the vacuum disconnect. just get a shaft from a different year. Just make sure it uses the same U joint as your outer shaft. Why explorer springs on the front. They are long. I am using YJ spings and I can max out a 13" travel shock.
